WHAT WE DO

MORE THAN A WAX.

A PROPER PAINT CORRECTION.

Car polishing is the process of removing a fine layer of clear coat to eliminate surface imperfections - swirl marks, light scratches, water spots, and oxidation. The result is paintwork that looks deeper, clearer, and more vibrant than it has in years.

At WashNGlow, we use premium-grade compounds and polishes applied carefully by hand and machine. Every panel is worked individually - no rushing, no cutting corners. If your car has lost its shine, polishing is the most effective way to get it back.

WHY IT HAPPENS

YOUR PAINT TAKES A BEATING EVERY DAY.

Automated Car Washes

Stiff brushes create micro-scratches that accumulate into visible swirl marks over time.

UV Exposure

The Australian sun oxidises clear coat, causing paint to look faded and chalky.

Bird Droppings

Acidic deposits etch into the clear coat if left untreated.

Improper Washing

Wrong cloths, wrong technique, and wrong products all leave their mark.

OUR PROCESS

HOW WE RESTORE YOUR PAINT

1

Wash & Decontaminate

We start with a full hand wash, then apply a claybar treatment to remove bonded surface contaminants — preparing the paint properly before any polishing begins.

2

Paint Inspection

We assess each panel under lighting to identify swirl marks, scratches, and oxidation. This tells us what compound and technique is needed for your specific paint condition.

3

Polish

Working panel by panel, we apply premium polish by hand or machine — removing imperfections and restoring depth, clarity, and gloss to the paintwork.

4

Final Inspection

We check the finish under lighting before handing back your car. You'll see the difference immediately.

What's the difference between Claybar & Polish and Cut & Polish?

Claybar & Polish is a lighter treatment — it removes surface contaminants and restores shine with a hand polish. Cut & Polish is a more aggressive correction using a machine buffer to remove deeper scratches and swirl marks. If you're unsure, we'll assess your paint and recommend the right option.

Will polishing remove all scratches?

Polishing removes surface-level scratches and swirl marks — those that sit within the clear coat. Deep scratches that have broken through to the paint or primer may not be fully removed, but polishing can significantly reduce their visibility. We'll be honest with you at inspection.

How long does polishing take?

Claybar & Polish takes approximately 2–3 hours. Cut & Polish takes 3–5 hours depending on vehicle size and paint condition.

How often should I polish my car?

For most vehicles, once or twice a year is sufficient. If you're using automated car washes regularly or parking outdoors, more frequent polishing may be needed to keep the paint in good condition.

Should I get paint protection after polishing?

Yes — polishing opens up the paint surface, making it the ideal time to apply a ceramic coating or paint protection film. We offer ceramic coating as a separate service and can combine it with a polishing package. Ask us when you book.
